Dr. Zakaria Mani — Emergency Nursing and Disaster Preparedness Researcher

Dr. Zakaria Mani is an emergency nursing researcher whose work asks whether nurses are ready for the emergencies they meet — armed conflict, disasters and climate-driven health crises — and how to prepare them. As the Ministry of Health's emergency instructor in Jazan he designed the region's emergency-care training, and he has prepared disaster plans and drills for hospitals, utilities and other organisations there. He now measures emergency competencies across conflict-affected countries from Jazan University's College of Nursing.
